  • National Food Security Scheme:

     
    The National Food Security Act, 2013 has been implemented in the State of Assam since December 2015 under NFSA’13 , 84.17% of Rural population and 60.35% of Urban population (as per Census 2011) of the state are covered to distribute rice at highly subsidized @ free of Cost. The total population benefitted under NFSA’13 in the state is 2,52,18,002 crore. There are two categories of cards under NFSA’13, –
      (i)  Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Card.
      (ii)  Priority Household (PHH) Card.
    * Bellow 4 Lakh of annual income family are selected for the AAY and PHH categories under NFSA, 13.

    • Antyodaya Anna Yojana(AAY)

    The Antyodaya Anna Yojana(AAY) scheme is in implementation since November, 2001 in the state as per GOI’s guidelines. The State has 6,73,378 lakhs of AAY families as per the direction of the Central Govt. and all these AAY families are selected under NFSA’13 and are provided with highly subsidized rice @35 kg per family per month at free of cost per kg.

    • Priority Household(PHH)

    The Priority Household beneficiaries are comprised of all the eligible families from the erstwhile categories of BPL, APL, MMASY, FICs under PDS/TPDS. The new applicants are also considered under Priority Household category(PHH). The State has 49,57,864 lakhs of PHH families, who are benefited under NFSA,13. The Priority Household beneficiaries are provided with 5 kg of Rice /family member at free of cost per kg.
    Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) 
    The central Government has been launched the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) in all over the countries during COVID-19 pandemic for providing of additional benefit of 5 kg rice per month for each beneficiaries under AAY and PHH categories at free of cost.
    • Affordable Nutrition & Nourishment Assistance Yojana (ANNA)

    Since, March’ 2019, the State Government of Assam has been implementing a new innovative scheme namely “Affordable Nutrition & Nourishment Assistance” (ANNA) in the State.

    The Government of Assam is providing rice to 6,73,378 nos. of  Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families and 49,57,864 nos. of Priority Household (PHH) families covering 2,00,15,140 nos. of population under the National Food Security Act.

    Population cap- 2,52,18002, as per 2011 census.
