Under the PSS, the Government of Assam in the department of FCS & CA under takes procurement of food grains [paddy/rice] from the farmers at minimum support price as fixed by government of India through procuring agencies viz. FCI, ASAMB, NCCF, NEFed, & NACOF within the procurement period fixed by Govt of India in notified paddy purchased centre to avoid distress sale.
